The entire world around us is filled with colours. Everywhere we turn, we see a million different shades. A brunette will have several shades of black and brown in his or her hair. The sun is described as golden, red, yellow, orange, fiery, and so on and on. One single colour has numerous shades and the combination of such shades helps create true beauty. And the most amazing thing of all, these are plays of light. People have always been fascinated by colour. Aristotle and several other great scholars were intrigued by it but it was Newton who identified light as the source of colour. And this is where the navy blue leather jacket enters the picture.
The second breakthrough was in 1810 when Goethe
published his ‘theory of colour’. But why white
blue leather jacket for instance? In ancient Greece, colour was a symbol,
an indication of a substance. It was not a physical or visual trait as it is
now. Then, it was considered an integral quality. An example is Osiris' green
skin. This portrayed his power over vegetation and his own resurrection. Every
artist, then, would have six colours. Now these paints were created from
mineral compounds. Thus, the integrity and vibrancy has survived over centuries
and centuries. This is exactly why some Egyptian artifacts still retain their
original paint- making them invaluable.
The navy blue leather jacket is
not just an outer wear. Its very color has a deep symbolic history and of
course, is rather aesthetically pleasing.
Same can be said for the white blue
leather jacket. The colour of snow was assigned the qualities omnipotence
and purity. The wedding gown in Christian weddings is white to portray
innocence and purity. This colour was worn for sacred rituals and religious
ceremonies in many cultures because the qualities of purity and light have been
assigned to it throughout history across the world. Chalk and gypsum were used
to create it centuries ago. The colours of sky, and its numerous shades, have a
different symbolic meaning. The color of the navy blue leather jacket was produced through iron, calcium, copper
and etc. in ancient times. This dye represented sky, water, and the heavens.
Associated with life (water), this shade became symbolic of birth as well.
The white blue leather jacket is perhaps my
favourite combination. The smooth and blending tone of milk combined with the
rich, deep, lustre tint of midnight; a brilliant combination which is rather
striking. The sailor’s uniform is in these very colors. Why? Because they
catch the eye, give off a reassuring appeal and a quality of responsibility.
Many school uniforms are in these shades precisely because of that. They are
soothing hues- they attract and lease in the very first moment. The navy blue leather jacket is, with just
one shade, very bold and arresting. The British Navy has worn this colour since
1748! America had to change theirs to black because too many navies had the
same exact shade. White blue leatherjacket is my personal favourite as it combines two hues that I love.
